I bought this welder to make yard sculptures from 3/16" rod. I was using a Bernz-o-matic MAP/Oxygen brazing torch. Needless to say after buying 4 oxygen cylinders at $9.99 each, it got a bit pricey. I have never welded before and this was very easy to set up and use.my welds are not pretty, but my decorations are staying together!
Make sure you buy gloves, and a welding helmet. The little face shield that came with it does not offer enough protection.
