Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Service and repair of mechanical, oceanographic and facilities equipment. Perform high quality aluminum and stainless welding for oceanographic projects. Other duties as required.

Occasional Duties:
Help maintain facilities.

Required Education and Experience:
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Three (3) years as a welder including two (2) years experience welding aluminum. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and be able to obtain a State of Texas Class 'C' vehicle operator's license within 30 days of employment. Must be capable of making close measurements and working to accurate dimensions and possess considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Requires the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Completion of technical courses in welding. Completion of a federally certified welding apprentice program. Three years as a journeyman welder.
