Job Description
Adecco Engineering & Technical is seeking a qualified MIG Welder for a direct-hire position in Garland, TX. Must be willing to work a 5:30am-2pm Shift, OT on weekends is available if wanted ($12-13hr DOE)
Position Summary
The MIG welder is primarily responsible for operating welding equipment to fuse metal segments together.
Essential Job Functions
- Start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify the proper supervisor.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Examine work pieces for defects and proper measurements.
- Move to next parts to next work station.
Experience/Knowledge/Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years experience in MIG welding
- Able to work in a fast pace environment
- Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision
- Possess effective communication skills
- Required to lift boxes up to 50lbs
- Repetitive work environment and non climate control
