Donald Edward “Ed” Dilldine, 74, resident of rural Barnsdall, Oklahoma died Friday March 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 20, 2012 in the Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tony Lalli of Dewey Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Barnsdall American Legion, Webster-Schrack Post # 227.
Donald Edward Dilldine was born May 7, 1937 at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Issac Harrison and Violet Alene (Likes) Dilldine. He was raised and received his education in Copan, graduating there in 1955. Ed entered the U.S. Army on December 1, 1960 and was honorably discharged on March 28, 1962. He was employed in the construction of Highway 75 through the Bartlesville area during the 1960s. He was active as a welder for 5-Star and Superior Welding Companies for over 17 years and worked for Hill Steel until his retirement in 1999. Ed was married to Mary Ann Mears on November 7, 1880 at Bartlesville. He was a member of the Dewey Church of Christ at Dewey.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Dilldine of the family home at Barnsdall; one brother Gerald Wayne Dilldine of Copan, Oklahoma; three sisters Ruth Maxine Thompson of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Carol Sue Johnson of Mound Valley, Kansas and Sharron Elaine Wall of Caney, Kansas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Clifford Dilldine and Lefty Dilldine, three sisters; Mary Lois Cantrell, Mildred Duke and Patsy Robertson.
