JACKSON, Miss. -- Jackson police said a second arrest was made Sunday in the beating of a Vicksburg man.David Thomas, 25, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault after police said he and Jontez Garvis robbed Fred Jackson of his wallet, beat him with an unknown object and left him for dead.Officers said that Jackson was welding security bars at Tri-Miss Recycling on West Woodrow Wilson Avenue when Thomas and Garvis, who were wearing hoods, walked up to him about 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 and attacked him.The attack was captured by Tri-Miss surveillance cameras.Jackson is still in critical condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, police said.
