Description: This welding position is not an entry level position
Duties: • Candidate must be able to perform welding operations on aircraft, aircraft components, and aircraft engine parts
• Must be certified on various metals and procedures/techniques prior to employment in accordance with SAE-AMS-STD-1595 Qualifications of Aircraft, Missile and Aerospace Fusion Welders
• Must be able to verify this certification and shall provide verification of certification upon request of the employer
• Candidate will be required to complete and pass test plates
• The candidate must be able to weld a variety of metals and alloys
• The candidate shall maintain welding certification/recertification as required and the skill and knowledge to perform one-time weld repairs which are not effected on a production line basis and which require the application of independent thinking as to arc stability, penetration, viscosity of flux
• The candidate shall be able to predetermine the heat range (amp range), intensity of high frequency, type of current, electrode size, shield cups, grounding method, arc stability, degree of penetration, surface tension and viscosity of the flux and shielding slag (argon gas shield), preheat and post-heat temperature of the metals being welded and time element
• The candidate must have experience, with MIG and TIG welding procedures
• Intense, close tolerance welding operational experience with aluminums of .0001 thicknesses a must
• Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prefer experience from military fixed wing community (F/A-18, P-3, EA-6B,H-60) or civilian heavy structure background
• Veteran experience required. Recent graduate of welding school with minimal experience will not qualify
• Must have welding license and will be required to perform welding competency test plates
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to pass a NACI background check. The NACI will include pulling a full credit check.

• Physical Requirements:
A. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
B. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
C. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
D. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
E. May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
F. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
G. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
H. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
I. May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
